ASPS member Oren Tepper, New York, was the lead plastic surgeon who recently performed the separation of craniopagus twins Jadon and Anias McDonald – a successful procedure that occurred over a 27-hour span Oct. 13-14 at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, New York, and which thus far has the boys on course to a normal life. As the team’s plastic surgeon, Dr. Tepper, at the very real risk of oversimplifying, was in charge of skin and skull; his overall charge was to ensure the 13-month-old boys would possess enough of each to survive.
